Three people were killed and two injured when a pickup truck crashed through the front door of a Walmart store in Pella, Iowa on Thursday, according to reports.
The truck driver was one of the two people injured, Patrol Sgt. Nathan Ludwig said, the Associated Press reports, while the three people killed were all outside the vehicle. None of those killed or injured were children. Authorities have not released the names of those involved as they are still working to inform their families.
Witnesses told Knoxville radio station KNIA that the truck rammed through the front door of the store at full speed just before 10 a.m. The store was evacuated and remained closed on Thursday afternoon.
A photo posted by the Des Moines Register showed the truck sitting in the store’s produce aisle with boxes scattered on the ground.
