This Celeb’s Daughter Is Finally Comfortable in Her Own Skin

1 minute read

Snoop Dogg’s daughter Cori Broadus is opening up about her journey toward self acceptance and inspiring others to do the same.

The 17-year-old may be hip hop royalty, but feelings about her complexion once left her feeling quite the contrary.

In a revealing Instagram post, the music protégée shed light on a subject that affects black women and girls worldwide: colorism.

Turning her previous struggles into an empowering message, Broadus writes under a beautiful portrait of herself:

“I can finally say I’m comfortable in my own skin, grew up disposing the skin tone I was in because it’s been bashed for so long & society has been pitting in our heads that dark is ugly. For all you beautiful chocolate girls/women out there you’re BEAUTIFUL & don’t let anyone tell you different. –Cori B.”

Cori reposted the same image to Twitter captioning it, “#Girlpower spread the message” and we couldn’t agree more.
