The self-described “Actress | Host | Mother | Singer | Songwriter | Adventurer With Purpose | Lover Of All Things Green” [made the announcement](http://nymag.com/thecut/2016/11/marla-maples-wants-to-be-your-new-lifestyle-guru.html "undefined") on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/itsmarlamaples/status/793547471301451776 "undefined") last night_,_ only one week before the presidential election. On her website, Maples explains how she made her foray into entertainment and philanthropy. The homecoming queen from Cohutta, Georgia came to New York after graduating from the University of Georgia with career dreams. She married Donald Trump in 1993, but they divorced six years later.
