Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan—and their daughter Max and faithful family dog Beast—got swept up in the Halloween spirit Monday, outfitting the whole family in a spot-on group costume “inspired” by the animated movie How to Train Your Dragon, according to Zuckerberg’s comment on his photo.
While Zuckerberg and Chan bedecked themselves in fur and leather—specifically, cozy-looking Ugg-type boots and old-school Viking-style armor—they chose to keep the costume for eleven-month-old Max plush and easy; their daughter got to be the young, onesie-clad dragon of the group. Shaggy-haired Beast, meanwhile, stole the show as a sheep.
If the Zuckerberg-Chan clan plans on making themed family costumes an annual occurrence, they should know they are entering a crowded scene with stiff competition. Between Beyoncé, Jay Z, and Blue Ivy’s multiple strong showings this year and the reigning champion crew of the genre, Neil Patrick Harris and squad, celebrity families have already set a high bar. That said, this is a solid start to an excellent family tradition.
