At least 13 people are dead following a tour bus and semi-truck collision in Southern California early Sunday morning, according to the Associated Press.
The bus crashed into the back of the truck on Interstate 10 north of Palm Springs, the California Highway Patrol said. The westbound 10 Freeway remains closed.
At least 31 people from the bus were taken to hospitals in the Palm Springs area, The Desert Sun reported.
Photos from the crash show firefighters using ladders to get into the bus’s window and pull people out. The death toll is expected to rise as firefighters enter the bus.
Footage from the crash shows the front of the bus pushed into the semi-truck’s trailer.
