Why Hillary Clinton is Playing in Arizona

3 minute read

If you only read one thing: Hillary Clinton is taking the fight to Republican territory. Chelsea Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Michelle Obama will be in Arizona this week to drive early vote in the red state, as the Clinton campaign works to get further under Donald Trump’s skin. Additionally, the Clinton campaign is diverting resources to down-ballot Democrats in an effort to shore up the Senate and place the House further in play. The moves are a clear sign of confidence, as Clinton takes significant leads in national and key swing state polls.

Donald Trump is continuing his war with his party’s leadership, suggesting to ABC News that Speaker of the House Paul Ryan is trying to sabotage his candidacy because he wants to run for president in 2020. Meanwhile, he is not backing off his claims that the election is being rigged at the ballot box, despite a long list of Republicans coming forward to reject his rhetoric—including New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and his own running-mate.

A clash over classification of Clinton emails. How Obama is trying to shape his legacy. And Ivanka won’t join her father’s administration.
