The trailer for Disney’s Moana arrived Thursday, offering a look at the lush Pacific Island landscape and a peek into the unbeatable chemistry between the title character (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho) and the tattooed demigod Maui (voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson).
Moana, Disney’s first Polynesian princess, is trying to become a master navigator in an effort to save her people. After some initial resistance from Maui, the two team up to find their way across the ocean, take down enemies and fulfill the ancient quest of Moana’s ancestors.
Also included: Moana’s wacky chicken sidekick, an underground “Realm of Monsters” and a soundtrack of original tunes from Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda, among other composers.
The film hits theaters Nov. 23.
