Alexis Bledel Hints at Rory’s Romantic Fate on the New Gilmore Girls

2 minute read

We’re still more than two months out from the new four-movie arc of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, but the plot is already thickening, so to speak.

Alexis Bledel, who’s returning as main character Rory Gilmore, teased some key information about her character’s romantic status on Tuesday.

“It think there is satisfying closure for any fans of any of the three couples that tend to get some attention,” Bledel told Us Weekly. “But they’re very different interactions. I would say each one of them [gets] closure in a different way.”

While the actress kept her comments coyly vague enough to keep fans guessing, we know that all three of her exes — Jared Padalecki’s Dean, Milo Ventimiglia’s Jess, and Matt Czuchry’s Logan — will get some renewed attention. But with “closure” as the key word in Bledel’s comments, it’s highly possible all three might end up out of the picture by the season’s end.

In the years since the last Gilmore Girls episode aired, Rory certainly hasn’t been pining after former boyfriends, though: the former Yale Daily News editor has instead been doggedly pursuing her career in journalism — and weathering the industry’s volatile changes, Bledel noted.

“She has been working hard, as she does,” Bledel explained. “She started her work as a journalist at the same time that newspapers were going away. Her field changed dramatically as she was just kind of getting up and running. So that’s where we pick up with her.”

The revival airs Nov. 25 on Netflix.
