A lot of changes are coming with iOS 10, and Apple’s iMessage App Store is one of them.
The iMessage App Store will sell stickers, games, and apps—all of which can only be used within iMessage. Some of the apps will be standalone, but others will be extensions of existing apps that are already available through the main App Store.
The sticker packs, according to 9to5mac, will be featured from companies like Disney, Bandai Namco, and Sanrio, and will cost $1.99. The new Star Wars sticker pack includes 21 animated stickers that can be “peeled and pasted” on conversation bubbles but can also be sent as standalone replies.
The iMessage App Store will be available for all users of iOS 10, which goes live Tuesday.
Aside from stickers, The Verge also reports that apps like Citymapper will add the ability to quickly send location details, and ESPN will support sports scores for messaging. iOS 10 users can even play games like Words With Friends directly within iMessage conversations.
The new iMessage App Store comes as Apple is seeking to pull its users away from Facebook Messenger, WeChat and Snapchat, among others, according to The Verge.
