Jessica Alba‘s eco-friendly e-commerce business, the Honest Company, is taking a political stance with its new line of diapers. But perhaps not the one that you’d expect.
Starting on Tuesday, the company will sell “bipartisan” diapers that feature illustrations of both U.S. political party symbols, the donkey and the elephant, holding hands. Honest Company co-founder and CEO Brian Lee told MOTTO via email that the company wanted to sell the diapers, which are available on the company’s website for $13.95, to promote unity during a divisive presidential election.

“Our children are the leaders of the future, and it is our responsibility as parents to ensure they grow up in a world of love,” Lee said. “As the election approaches, let’s teach our children to embrace unity and compassion. There is one United States, one people, indivisible, and our new election diaper encompasses that sincere belief.”
Alba, the mother of two daughters, co-founded the company in 2011 to sell all-natural and chemical-free baby products, and the company has since expanded to sell other household products, including beauty products, soap and cleaning supplies.(Honest has since been hit with a handful of lawsuits that claim its products aren’t as all-natural as the company purports. Alba has called these lawsuits “baseless.”)
The bipartisan diapers aren’t Alba’s first foray into political discourse. She starred in a campaign to encourage young people to register to vote in 2008, and endorsed President Obama in both 2008 and 2012.
“I always try to set a good example for my children—but I’m amazed by how much I actually learn from them,” Alba told MOTTO via email. “Our election diapers were inspired by all of the little ones out there who were born not to see red or blue, but simply to love.”
