In a new [interview with _Marie Claire_](http://www.marieclaire.co.uk/news/celebrity/554339/britney-spears-is-marie-claire-s-october-cover-star.html), pop icon and mother of two Britney Spears admitted that she still struggles with dating — even when it’s with a guy she already knew and liked. “We went to the movies, but I could tell right away it wasn’t working,” [the _Glory_ singer](http://time.com/4468037/britney-spears-album-glory-released/?iid=sr-link2) told the magazine. “It was sort of awkward. So after the movie I came home and that was it.” Stars: they’re just like us, hitting up the local cineplex for a run-of-the-mill rom-com to break the first-date ice. But Spears has more devastatingly relatable news. “He just wasn’t that into me,” Spears explained, crushingly. “I liked him. He knew that. But he definitely didn’t feel the same. It happens to everybody.
