It turns out no level of international fame will keep you safe from a lackluster love life. In a new interview with Marie Claire, pop icon and mother of two Britney Spears admitted that she still struggles with dating — even when it’s with a guy she already knew and liked.
“We went to the movies, but I could tell right away it wasn’t working,” the Glory singer told the magazine. “It was sort of awkward. So after the movie I came home and that was it.” Stars: they’re just like us, hitting up the local cineplex for a run-of-the-mill rom-com to break the first-date ice. But Spears has more devastatingly relatable news.
“He just wasn’t that into me,” Spears explained, crushingly. “I liked him. He knew that. But he definitely didn’t feel the same. It happens to everybody. Being famous doesn’t make you any different.”

At least it sounds like Spears knows how to cut her losses early on. In other news, her latest album release is sitting pretty in the top five on the iTunes Store and she has a successful VMAs performance under her belt. Besides, as she told James Corden in her Karaoke Carpool segment last week, she doesn’t believe in marriage anymore.
