Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner spent a nice, relaxing day on billionaire David Geffen’s yacht in Croatia.
Other than being a Hollywood executive and major philanthropist, Geffen also happens to be a generous Democrat. Daily Mail notes that Geffen was an early supporter of President Obama and donated large sums to both Bernie Sanders’ and Hillary Clinton‘s campaigns during the primaries. No mention of a donation to Ivanka’s father, however.
Trump and Kushner enjoyed the day jet skiing, tanning, and sightseeing with Wendi Deng, Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife. Academy Award winner Brian Grazer, known for 24 and A Beautiful Mind, and his wife, Veronica, also joined the outing.
Geffen’s political views are fairly opposite those of Donald Trump, which makes this yachting excursion all the more interesting. In 2014, Geffen told Maureen Dowd of the New York Times that in 2008 he withdrew his support form the Clintons because he felt they lied “with such ease, it’s troubling.” He would, however, support her in 2016, and has called her an “an extraordinary, smart, accomplished woman.”
Ivanka Trump isn’t the only major name to vacation on Geffen’s 82-room yacht. Other guests include Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Bruce Springsteen. Leonardo DiCaprio is holding a fundraiser for Clinton on August 23, where tickets cost $33,400 per person. During a June concert in Germany, Springsteen held up a sign that read “F— Trump.”
Politics aside, it looked like smooth sailing.
