Justin Trudeau Totally Photobombed a Wedding Without His Shirt

2 minute read

A shirtless and smiling Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister, apparently photobombed a recent wedding in British Columbia.

Trudeau was leaving a beach in Tofino when he saw a bride walking with her parents during the ceremony, a photographer who witnessed the encounter later recalled on Facebook. The Canadian leader had previously made headlines on vacation after surprising a family on a hike in Quebec’s Gatineau Park when he emerged from a small cave, also without a shirt.

“It was her moment and he respectfully stood aside and witnessed her walk down the aisle to her husband-to-be,” Marnie Recker wrote in a comment.

Recker added that the Prime Minister did not “mean to be in the photo” after some had criticized the fact that he is looking into the camera, not at the bride.

“This photo speaks to that one tradition we have across all countries and cultures, of two people coming together to express their love,” Recker wrote. “Justin is not a politician in this photo. He is a human being that is able to celebrate and empathize with others.”

“Fate gave him no choice and he did the only thing he could do but stand there and allow her to pass,” she added. “He is looking at the camera in some of the photos because I was looking at him and smiling, sharing in the humour of the moment.”
