The teenager accused of killing three people at a party in Washington State on Friday says he read the manual for the AR-15 he used just before beginning his rampage, according to court documents.
Allen Ivanov, 19, told detectives he had bought the gun a week earlier, and was to attend a safety course this month, NBC News reports. He brought the weapon along in his car to a party on Friday night, where he hoped to reunite with his ex-girlfriend. But when he saw she was there with another man, he retrieved the gun from his car, read the instruction manual, loaded the gun, approached the property, shot dead a man who stumbled upon him lurking with the weapon, then proceeded to kill his ex-girlfriend and another man. He shot at two more people before climbing up to the roof and finding that he’d run out of ammunition.
Ivanov has been charged with one count of first-degree aggravated murder and two counts of first-degree murder. He is being held without bail at a county jail.
