It’s just like Howard Schultz, Starbucks CEO wrote in the book Onward, “grow with discipline. Balance intuition with rigor. Innovate around the core. Don’t embrace the status quo. Find new ways to see.”
It’s that kind of forward thinking that explains why Starbucks Japan announced a new drink with a bunch of jelly chunks at the bottom. The new drink, which Starbucks Japan launched Tuesday, is a frappucino with a jelly made from a Starbucks coffee blend at the bottom of the cup, according to Rocket News. It comes with a bigger than usual straw for slurping up the jelly beneath the vanilla custard beneath the coffee, a step onward and beyond America’s boring candy-colored iced drinks.
The drink’s whipped cream-topped three layers are ideal for maximum visibility on social media, and gelatinous things are popular in Japan, so people have shared the tweet more than 27,000 times.
