John Enochs pleaded guilty to battery with moderate bodily injury, as a Class A misdemeanor, having previously been accused of rape in two separate incidents, according to court records obtained by PEOPLE. The two previous rape charges were withdrawn, with the new charge amended, according to court records. Some on social media were quick to criticize the deal as the result of broader prejudice in the justice system – even linking Enochs’ plea [to the controversial six-month sentence](http://www.people.com/article/channing-tatum-on-brock-turner-sexual-assault-case-rape-culture) handed down for former Stanford swimmer Brock Turner. “Now we know the truth. White men don’t get punished for raping women,” one Twitter user wrote. Another wrote, “White male privilege must be nice.” It was not immediately clear what led to the plea deal, and PEOPLE was not able to reach either Enochs’ attorney or the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office for comment.  John Enochs Monroe County Jail The victim in the April 2015 incident has alleged that Enochs attacked her at the DeltaTau Delta house, according to Fox59, citing court documents. According to Fox59, the second rape allegation, from 2013, was brought forward during the police investigation into the 2015 incident. The victim in that case repotedly agreed to help investigators, and Enochs was later arrested based off of DNA evidence and witness statements, according to documents obtained by Fox59.
