A Minneapolis man is suing the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and an airport operator for a little more than $500 after he said long lines at security checkpoints caused him to miss a flight.
Hooman Nikizad said he missed his flight to Los Angeles on March 19 after having to wait more than 90 minutes to go through TSA security screenings at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, the Star Tribune reports.
“I had to buy a ticket with another airline to be able to make my destination and meet my obligations,” Nikizad said in the lawsuit filed in federal court last week, according to the newspaper.

Nikizad, a resident surgeon with the University of Minnesota, arrived two hours before his plane was set to take off. He is suing for $506.85, the Tribune said.
The TSA and the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which operates the airport, both did not immediately return requests for comment Tuesday.
