A 16-year-old member of the high school football team was arrested on Friday for his alleged role in the incident. He was charged with two felony charges of cruelty to children for allowing the victim to engage in a sex act. He was also charged with possession of obscene material – a charge that arises from the cellphone video of the incident. Because he is a minor, PEOPLE is not naming the suspect, who pleaded not guilty to all charges on Saturday morning. Calls to his family have not been returned. A judge ordered that the boy serve 21 days of home detention. He has been barred from school grounds, and cannot have contact with anyone under the age of 15\. He is also not allowed to have contact with anyone else involved with the case. The case drew international attention after reports that as many as 25 male students entered the bathroom during the hour-long incident. Last week, the girl’s mother also [came forward](http://www.people.com/article/florida-teen-alleged-bathroom-sex-victim-human-trafficking "undefined") and said that her daughter had been a victim of sex trafficking for two years.
