[_Star Wars: The Force Awakens_](http://time.com/4252318/jj-abrams-force-awakens-scene-change/) may have introduced the world to the impressive talents of [Daisy Ridley](http://time.com/4317608/star-wars-day-daisy-ridley-may-fourth/?iid=sr-link4) and [John Boyega](http://time.com/4282080/star-wars-rap-daisy-ridley-john-boyega/?iid=sr-link5), but the real breakout star of the film was the adorable droid, BB-8\. In a new video, a black lab puppy meets the little robot and they have a cute off where everyone watching is the winner.

While director [J.J. Abrams warned Ridley](http://time.com/4137324/star-wars-the-force-awakens-daisy-ridley-bb-8/?iid=sr-link2) that BB-8 was not just an adorable ball of fun, but actually “a droid with a mission,” no one seems to have informed the puppy who quickly adopts BB-8 as his BFF.
