Gilly had a tense meet-the-parents moment on Game of Thrones Sunday night, when she sat down to dinner with Samwell Tarly’s family.
It’s an old trope in romance stories, dinner with the parents, and Game of Thrones did it justice — at least according to the show’s fans, who were raving about Gilly’s makeover for the occasion almost as much as they were dissecting the return of a certain long-gone character.
It doesn’t seem like anything too drastic — she simply borrowed a dress from Sam’s sister Talla and combed her hair — but still, many have started calling it her “Pretty Woman” moment, in reference to the 1990 Julia Roberts rom-com.
