Watch a Vision-Impaired Baby See His Mom Clearly for the First Time

1 minute read

A touching video captures the moment when a vision-impaired baby in Washington state sees his mother for the first time, thanks to a new pair of glasses.

The child, Leopold, has been diagnosed with Oculocutaneous Albinism (OCA), a rare disease that causes vision problem and that affects the coloring of the skin, hair, and eyes, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

“Today he received his glasses…and can now see the world clearly for the very first time,” the child’s father David Reppond wrote in a description of the 30-second video on YouTube.
