Girls creator Lena Dunham described filming a recent scene in which Hannah bares herself to the camera in the cinematic tradition of Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday.
Meyers brought up how Dunham’s character went far for even Girls, spreading her legs for the principal of the school where she was a teacher to reveal a lack of underwear.
“You just opened the legs and we had the bas–basic instinct, the basic Basic Instinct shot,” Meyers said, stammering a bit and laughing nervously.
“Here’s why it’s not porn,” Dunham began to explain. “In our conservative nation, I didn’t go all the way.”
