Negative reviews aside, _Batman v Superman_ will always be recognized as the first film to put Wonder Woman on the big screen after 75 years. Gal Gadot plays the Amazonian warrior in the film, and while her performance has often been cited as a highlight, there were many fans who found her initial casting to be objectionable because of Gadot’s appearance.

“There were comments they wanted her to be more bosomy,” Conan O’Brien explained when Gadot and the cast of _Batman v Superman_ appeared on Thursday’s episode of _Conan_.

“Bigger hearts,” Gadot joked. “Yes, there were some people who had a lot to say about my hearts. At the end of the day you can’t please them all, and I completely understand that. And if you want to be original to the story, the Amazons used to have only one breast, because it was in the way with the \[bow and arrow\].”

She added, “Eventually after many creative conversations with Zack \[Snyder, the film’s director\], we decided to keep them both.”

Gadot has discussed this string of comic book fans before, even joking during a recent appearance on_Jimmy Kimmel Live_ that she thought host Jimmy Kimmel would ask about her chest when he brought up the Wonder Woman costume. “I thought you were leading to the fact that a lot of comic fans had a lot to say about my breasts,” [she said](http://www.ew.com/article/2016/03/16/batman-v-superman-gal-gadot-wonder-woman-costume).

Even if it’s good or even if it’s bad – because one day it’s good and the other day it’s bad, so I’d rather not pay attention to either.”
