[Speaking to the _Hollywood Reporter_](http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/ben-affleck-has-written-his-879355) about how many movies Affleck has signed on for as Batman, he said, “He’s contracted to do at least _Justice League \[Part\] One_ and _Two_, so at least three times wearing the cape.” Whitesell added, “There’s a script that he’s written that is a really cool \[Batman\] idea, so that’s out there as an option.” Affleck was first [linked to a standalone Batman movie](http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/09/ben-affleck-direct-and-star-standalone-batman-movie) as star, director, and co-writer (with Geoff Johns) last summer, and Whitesell’s remarks indicate the project has progressed since then. Affleck [recently told EW](http://www.ew.com/article/2016/03/03/batman-v-superman-dawn-justice-green-lantern-dc-movie-universe) the movie is “in development” but said he’s currently focused on finishing his adaptation of the Dennis Lehane thriller _Live By Night_. “I tend to be a one-movie-at-a-time guy,” Affleck said. “So, when I’m finished with this movie, I’ll then focus on my next movie and figure out what that will be.” Affleck is also set to make a Batman cameo in the all-star supervillain caper _Suicide Squad_, opening Aug. 5. How many stay that way. Most surprising about the panel was Ben Affleck addressing how he avoided psyching himself out stepping into the franchise characters cape and cal. I think if I If I thought too hard about the actors who played this part before, I couldn't have taken the job. But Affleck joked he was reassured when director Zach Snyder said Affleck was perfect for the role, because Batman was, quote, " At the end of his rope; he's older, he's a burnout ." At the end of it, I was like even sort of astonished to look at it and go, that's exactly what you pitched me. Affleck also told the audience about his run- in at a Costume shop with former Batman actor Christian Bale. Affleck used the moment to ask Bale for a few pointers about playing the caped crusader.
