The first official trailer for _Miss Peregrine’s_ offers the first extended look at Jake’s (Asa Butterfield) journey to the hidden home of Miss Peregrine (Eva Green). ([A short teaser for the film](http://www.ew.com/article/2015/09/04/miss-peregrines-home-for-peculiar-children-teaser "undefined") celebrating the book’s holiday Loop Day dropped late last year.) He’s shown the new world of gifted orphans by Peregrine and Emma Bloom (Ella Purnell) while learning he’s not just an ordinary boy — he’s also the one who will protect them, as darkness threatens the orphanage.
