It’s Christmas come early! The first official trailer for season two of Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is here, and the ever-optimistic Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) is taking on the truly thankless task of playing elf during holiday shopping season. (The horrors of this job have been well-documented by David Sedaris—and, of course, the movie Elf.)
Creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock (of 30 Rock fame) have said that this season will be a little more daring that season one, which was written for network television before being picked up by Netflix. Hence, jokes about Kimmy watching cute animal videos are now joined by ones in which off-brand Times Square characters dabble in cocaine.
