This Is the Best-Paying Job In America

2 minute read

For the second straight year, physicians have the best-paying jobs in America, according to the jobs website Glassdoor. Physicians pull in a median base salary of $180,000, based on salary reports submitted to Glassdoor over the past year. Following them are lawyers, with a median salary of $144,500, and research & development managers with a median salary of $142,120.

The thing these high-paying jobs have in common is that they are high in demand, require higher education, and are fairly safe from being replaced by automation in the near future. On the other end of the spectrum, jobs that have to some extent already been replaced by computer automation ended up on Glassdoor’s list of lowest-paying jobs, according to Bloomberg. Occupations such as office assistant, leasing consultant and server all had a median base salary below $35,000.
