Confirmation that the space smuggler’s loyal furball of a co-pilot will appear in the film came from none other than Disney chief Bob Iger, who spoke about the studio’s _Star Wars_ plans at a Deutsche Bank conference Tuesday. According to [The Wrap](http://www.thewrap.com/chewbacca-to-appear-in-new-han-solo-movie-confirms-disneys-bob-iger/), Iger told attendees the Solo movie will be “an origin story about Han Solo and Chewie” (the operative word being “and”). Granted, it’s hard to imagine a Han Solo adventure without Chewbacca by his side, but for now fans don’t have to. Plot details are otherwise being kept under wraps for the project, which is being directed by [Phil Lord and Christopher Miller](http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/07/han-solo-movie-phil-lord-chris-miller-star-wars) of _The Lego Movie_. No casting announcements have been made. The Han Solo movie is currently scheduled to hit theaters May 25, 2018\.
