James tweeted Feb. 23 [he wanted to hear “those untitled tracks asap!!!”](https://twitter.com/KingJames/status/702268953033371648 "undefined") **EARLIER:** New Kendrick Lamar music might be coming sooner than you think. After Anthony Tiffith — the CEO of Lamar’s label Top Dawg Entertainment — promised [to release a new project this week](https://www.instagram.com/p/BCbSkKPRZbW/ "undefined"), a Lamar album titled _untitled unmastered_ has [popped up on Spotify](https://play.spotify.com/album/5WSPnYTQ6YZ1UvBRi5quhO "undefined"). The record has a 2016 release date and is currently unplayable. The eight tracks span 34 minutes and have names featuring the world “untitled” along with a date (“untitled 01 08.19.2014”). Lamar claimed last month he had [a “chamber” of unreleased material](http://www.ew.com/article/2016/02/16/kendrick-chamber-unreleased-material "undefined") that didn’t make his second record, _To Pimp a Butterfly_: “I think probably close to 10 songs that I’m in love with that I’ll still play and still perform that didn’t make the cut,” he explained. The Grammy-winning rapper has performed a slew of songs on late night shows that have been untitled and unreleased, including on [_The Colbert Report_](http://www.ew.com/article/2014/12/17/kendrick-lamar-colbert "undefined") and [_The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon_](http://www.ew.com/article/2016/01/08/kendrick-lamar-new-song-fallon "undefined").
