A nanny in Russia admitted in court Wednesday that she beheaded a 4-year-old girl in her care.
Officials said Gulchekhra Bobokulova, 38, had suffered from mental health problems, according to the BBC. Bobokulova was arrested Monday when she was found carrying the child’s severed head outside of a Moscow train station. When asked in court on Wednesday if she was guilty, she said, “yes.”
Bobokulova, the child’s nanny, is believed to have waited for the girl’s parents to leave the home before killing her and setting the apartment on fire, according to BBC. Surveillance footage captured Bobokulova walking near a metro station with the head in her hands.
