Kanye West Debuts New Song ’30 Hours’

2 minute read

It’s a good Friday, indeed: Kanye West started up GOOD Fridays again by releasing a new track titled “30 Hours” via SoundCloud less than a day after he debuted The Life of Pablo via a live stream at Madison Square Garden.

West first launched GOOD Fridays in 2010 as a way to promote that year’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. He released a new track each Friday between Aug. 20 and Nov. 12 before the album officially dropped Nov. 22. Although most of the songs stood alone, some — like “Power” and “Monster” — ended up appearing on the album.

West announced the return of GOOD Fridays by tweeting, “Now that the album is finally finished it’s back to Good Fridays” along with a link to the “30 Hours” SoundCloud, but he deleted that tweet right after posting. (A similar thing happened when he attempted to release “No More Parties in L.A.” back in January.) He soon re-posted the link, along with a message that he added a couple tracks to Life of Pablo — including “30 Hours,” which wasn’t on the original track list he released Wednesday.

In other Twitter news, West posted a series of tweets Friday morningclaiming that Taylor Swift came up with the lyric, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? Because I made that bitch famous” in new track “Famous.” (Swift, though, said through a rep that “Kanye did not call for approval” and that Swift was “never made aware of the actual lyric.”)

Following the release of “30 Hours,” he also said “the album is being mastered and will be out today.” See the tweets and hear “30 Hours” below.
