A woman who fell 60 ft. from a balcony in a department store in northern England had a lucky escape when she got a surprisingly soft landing.
As scores of shoppers and staff at the John Lewis store in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, looked on, the charmed 60-year-old crash-landed on a bed that was on display in just the right place to break her fall, the Manchester Evening News reports.
She suffered only minor hip and spinal injuries, according to a police spokeswoman. “Her injuries are not thought to be serious and it appears that she fell onto a bed,” the spokeswoman told the paper.
