It turns out Ewan McGregor reprised his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Didn’t notice? That’s because his face never appears and he utters just one line in a voice over, McGregor explained Thursday on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“I’d been waiting for the call to come for two years,” McGregor told Kimmel of waiting to be asked to join the movie. “Maybe they lost my agent’s phone number.”
When the call finally came, McGregor was asked to record one line as Obi-Wan Kenobi. His voice was melded with a recording of the original Obi-Wan actor Alec Guinness.
