The shadow of Donald Trump loomed large over Thursday’s Republican presidential debate.
There was still plenty of action though, with plenty of Hillary Clinton bashing and some tough questions from moderator Megyn Kelly that led to a showdown between Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz.
Even without the Republican front-runner a healthy debate took place in Des Moines, as voters in Iowa’s 99 counties prepare for Monday’s caucuses.
