Several Americans appear to have donned superhero costumes to shovel snow during winter storm Jonas, perhaps hoping the suits would help them muster the supernatural strength necessary to clear the up to two feet of white stuff that blanketed the Eastern part of the country.

A Facebook user posting from Rowlesburg, West Virginia, uploaded a clip of a man dressed like Batman shoveling snow out of his “Batcave,” while WGAL News Channel 8 Susquehanna shared one of a Pennsylvania man holding up Captain America’s shield.

Last Friday, a soldier in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, had his wife film him shoveling snow in a dinosaur costume.
