Jennifer Lawrence will soon add another splashy biopic to her resume: the Joy star is attached to play Fidel Castro’s lover in the forthcoming Marita, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Marita Lorenz had an affair with Castro in 1959 when she was only 19 years old; the following year, she says she was recruited by the CIA to participate in an assassination attempt on the Cuban leader. The story of her adventures has been written for the screen by Eric Warren Singer, who co-wrote another Lawrence vehicle, American Hustle.
