Brad Dassey, the half-brother of Brendan Dassey, one of the convicted subjects in Netflix’s docu-series, penned and recorded a rap song with a straightforward title: “They Didn’t Do It.” In addition to claiming Brendan and Steven Avery are innocent, he further accuses Manitowoc County (Wisc.) of evading due process.

“Not a fair trial, not a fair game/ Whole thing’s wack, just a lyin’ shame,” Brad Dassey says — [a Christian hip-hop, indie artist ](https://twitter.com/braddasseymusic)— during the hook of the song, which he worked on for “10 hours straight.”

Brendan Dassey and Avery were [convicted in 2007 ](http://www.ew.com/article/2015/12/29/making-murderer-what-do-after-binge-watching)in the murder of Teresa Halbach. On Tuesday, Avery appealed his murder conviction by claiming he was “[deprived of impartial jury.”](http://www.ew.com/article/2016/01/12/steven-avery-appeals-murder-conviction) Avery is serving a life sentence without chance for parole, while Brendan Dassey is up for parole in 2048.
