A technician for Air India died Wednesday after he was sucked into the engine of a parked plane at the airport in Mumbai.
The airline has ordered an investigation into the incident, the Times of India reports. The death occurred at around 9 p.m. near the T2 Terminal as Air India flight 619 was preparing to depart Mumbai for Hyderabad, India Today reports.
“Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family,” Ashwani Lohani, the chairman and director of Air India said in a statement. “We are deeply saddened and regret the tragic incident.”
