Andy Serkis Told Conan He’s Playing Darth Jar Jar in The Force Awakens

There are many, many fan theories about Star Wars: The Force Awakens and one of the most intriguing (and most likely untrue) is that the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke is actually the much-hated Gungan, Jar Jar Binks.

Actor Andy Serkis, who plays the character, stopped by Conan Monday night to talk about his role in the highly anticipated film. Despite the fact that The Force Awakens producer Kathleen Kennedy swears Jar Jar is not in the film, Serkis jokingly confirmed to host Conan O’Brien that the rumors are true: The worst part of The Phantom Menace has been re-born as an evil leader.

The reality should not come as a huge surprise to Star Wars fans who are keen to the fact that Serkis bears an uncanny resemblance to Jar Jar and does a spot-on Gungan voice.
