Democratic presidential nominee hopeful Bernie Sanders joined Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show Tuesday night to talk New York, politics, and of course, Donald Trump.
At one point, Jimmy Fallon suggested both Sanders and Trump could face-off to become the next U.S. President from New York City since Franklin Roosevelt, calling it the “battle of the New York boys.”
Sanders guffaws in response then simply says, “I look forward to that one.”
Fallon continues to push Sanders on the topic, prompting the Brooklyn native to really lay it out for everyone.
“A few months ago we were supposed to hate Mexicans. He thinks they’re all criminals and rapists. Now he thinks we’re supposed to hate Muslims,” Sanders says. “That kind of crap is not going to work in the United States of America.”
