A post published Sunday [by Robert Zimmer](http://www.uchicago.edu/emergency/ "undefined"), the president of the school, outlined that the university’s administration was warned by counterterrorism personnel at the FBI of a threat to target the “campus quad” at 10 a.m. on Monday. “Based on the FBI’s assessment of this threat and recent tragic events at other campuses across the country, we have decided in consultation with federal and local law enforcement officials, to exercise caution by canceling all classes and activities on the Hyde Park campus through midnight on Monday,” the post read. It also added that security would be stepped up around the campus, with police patrolling the area with “visible weapons.” There have been at least [25 shootings on college campuses](http://time.com/4058669/northern-arizona-university-school-shootings-2015/ "undefined") in the U.S. in 2015.
