Friday Night Lights is finally getting a reboot, although it may not be exactly what people were expecting. The beloved football drama is being made into The Unauthorized Friday Night Lights Musical, a show that will star Scott Porter, who played Jason Street, as Coach Taylor. Taylor was portrayed by Kyle Chandler during the series’ five-season run.
Sucker Love Productions, the team behind the recent The Unauthorized O.C. Musical, is producing the FNL stage show. It will feature original songs and will premiere sometime in 2016.
Porter posted a Dubsmash of himself reciting Taylor’s iconic pre-game mantra to get fans excited about the project.
