Watch the New Trailer for Degrassi: Next Class

The next class is in session.

Degrassi fans got a peek into the latest installment of the award-winning TV series with a dramatic first trailer of Degrassi: Next Class released by Netflix on Tuesday.

The new generation of troubled teens battles with heartache and at least one of the young characters appears to struggle with a life-threatening illness, the minute-long clip shows.

Many feared the long-running hit teen soap would be axed by TeenNick in July, Entertainment Weekly reported, but the cult Canadian drama series was picked up by Netflix, which will air the 20 new episodes starting January 15th.
