British electronic duo Disclosure performed at Studio 8H for the latest episode of Saturday Night Live and brought along Lorde and Sam Smith to join them. But according to a tweet by Lorde on Sunday, some viewers thought she lip synced her part on “Magnets,” her collaboration from Disclosure’s recent album Caracal.
“Wow — the fact that some people thought I was lip syncing on SNL is an awesome compliment!” the New Zealander tweeted Sunday afternoon. “Goes without saying I have never/will never haha.”
She also tweeted her gratitude for the show.
“When Lorde came in, I had this idea about writing about the phrase ‘the point of no return,’ and originally that was going to be the name of the song,” Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence recently told EW of teaming up with Lorde. “Ella came up with the idea of using it in the sense of if you’re attracted to someone you shouldn’t be for moral reasons, and then you tell them, then you’ve gone past the point of no return.”
Smith performed his own collaboration from Caracal, “Omen,” later in the show. Check out video of Lorde’s performance with Disclosure below.
