The seminal country trio announced the [DCX MMXVI World Tour](https://www.facebook.com/dixiechicks/videos/vb.6799988759/10153787921293760/?type=2&theater) — the largest the group has undertaken since its Accusations & Accidents World Tour in 2006 — on Monday [via its Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/dixiechicks/videos/vb.6799988759/10153787921293760/?type=2&theater). “Just when you thought you were safe, America, we’re back,” Natalie Maines comments in the 15-second clip from the band. “It’s been 10 years since we toured the U.S.” Martie Maguire continues, before the third Dixie Chick, Emily Robison, concludes that “there’s no telling what will happen this time.” The tour’s American leg will kick off June 1 in Cincinnati and wrap on Oct. 10 in Los Angeles. The Dixie Chicks have performed periodically since 2006, including a stint opening for the Eagles in 2010 and a brief Canadian tour in 2013, but the DCX MMXVI World Tour marks their return to American stages as headliners. The group’s previous tour came after their outspoken opposition to the Iraq War and the Bush Administration which, among other things, landed them on an iconic EW cover. “It definitely was the most bold thing as a person and as a band we had ever done,” Robison [told EW in 2013](http://www.ew.com/article/2013/08/09/dixie-chicks-nude-ew-cover-court-yard-hounds). The members of the Dixie Chicks have continued to make music since 2006\. Maguire and Robison released an album together as the Court Yard Hounds in 2010 and Maines put out a solo effort in 2013\.
