Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Tim McGraw were among the artists who appeared to read online insults about themselves on live TV. While Underwood wasn’t even sure what her tweet was trying to say, some of the other performers were hit with more brutal remarks. Rascal Flatts laughed off a request for the band to stop making music while Florida Georgia Line received a unique snub: “I would rather listen to the sound of my grandpa eating a nectarine for 3:30 than listen to a Florida Georgia Line song.” However, it was Willie Nelson who seemed to take his tweet most in stride. After reading a post stating that the 82-year-old singer being alive is proof that marijuana works wonders, Nelson responded, “You got it.” ## Transcript The 2015 CMAs were all about Star Wars, taking jokes maybe a little too far, and everything Justin Timberlake. Here are our favorite moments of the night. First, an epic Star Wars sketch. There were Storm Troopers, Luke Bryan as Darth Vader, and Carrie Underwood as Carrie Fisher, aka Princess Leia. Darth Vader, sorry to bother you The entire Star Wars bit has been cut. No! Luke, you're supposed to be Luke. This is so much cooler. Is Ms. Underwood trying to tell us she's preparing to take her husband, Mike Fisher's last name? Then came Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood's opening monologue, which definitely pushed a few boundaries. [ MUSIC ] Too soon Brad, too soon. Also a little too soon. This. And of course we can't ignore the break up that really rocked our world. The one that's on everybody's mind. Two people in this very room whom we all know and love. [ MUSIC ] On a completely unrelated topic, howdie Blake [ LAUGH ] [ APPLAUSE ] Luckily they didn't cut to Miranda Lambert's reaction. Next, Justin Timberlake completely crushed his duet with Chris Stapleton. [ MUSIC ] The awards led by Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town, each with three wins. But where Little Big Town is a country music vet at this point, Chris Stapleton is a new comer to the scene. Which is why his wins are such a big deal.
