Here’s What Happens When Molten Aluminum Is Poured Into a Pumpkin

1 minute read

Looking for a dramatic way to destroy carved pumpkins now that Halloween is over?

YouTube user TheBackyardScientist has demonstrated what happens when molten aluminum is poured into a jack-o’-lantern and then cooled off with liquid nitrogen. The result? Misshapen sculptures made out of pumpkin seeds. Perfect for stocking stuffers — if you want to look like you are giving someone coal.

Past experiments on this YouTube channel show what happens when molten aluminum is poured into a watermelon, a swimming pool, a lava lamp, cantaloupe and honeydew — clips that have racked up more than 31.6 million views altogether.
