He plays Dev, a 30-year-old struggling actor trying to figure out what path he wants to take in life. Should he have kids? Should he settle down with his girlfriend? Should he get pizza or tacos for dinner? _Master of None_ is loosely based on Ansari’s own life experiences and features his real-life dad, Shoukath, as Dev’s immigrant father. _SNL_ co-star Noël Wells co-stars as Dev’s girlfriend, Rachel.
