[Cox](http://time.com/132769/transgender-orange-is-the-new-black-laverne-cox-interview/ "undefined") came to fame on the Netflix show _Orange is the New Black_ and became the first transgender actress of color to receive a [primetime Emmy nomination](http://time.com/2973497/laverne-cox-emmy/ "undefined") before she signed up to play the cross-dressing alien mad scientist in Fox’s reboot of the classic film. Kenny Ortega will choreograph, direct and executive produce the two-hour special, while Lou Adler and Gail Berman will also join the project as executive producers, [_Entertainment Weekly_ ](http://www.ew.com/article/2015/10/21/laverne-cox-rocky-horror "undefined")reports.
