Daniel Radcliffe has admitted he is not a fan of the sixth Harry Potter film because of his own less than “interesting” performance in it.
Released in 2009, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince was the sixth of eight films in the hugely successful franchise based on J.K. Rowling’s best-selling novels. It was shot between September 2007 and May 2008, when Radcliffe had just turned 18.
“In every movie up to the sixth one, you can see a big step forward in my acting. And then it stopped, or went backward maybe, in the sixth film,” Radcliffe claimed a new interview with Playboy.
“You’re watching a mistake you made for 11 months,” he added. “I had the idea that Harry was like a soldier traumatised by war, and as a result of that, he shuts down emotionally. That’s not a bad idea, but it’s not the most interesting thing to watch for two and a half hours.”
Meanwhile, the Harry Potter films – including the one Daniel Radcliffe is not so keen on – are to be given their own TV channel later this week. To coincide with half-term, Sky Movies Greats will be renamed ‘Sky Movies Harry Potter’ from October 24 to November 9 as all eight films play exclusively on Sky Movies.
